Terms & Conditions

IMPORTANT NOTICE

These Terms & Conditions apply to services, retreats, trainings, classes, workshops, mentorship programmes, online offerings, events, and wellbeing experiences organised or provided by Tanita Yoga.

By booking, purchasing, participating in, attending, accessing, or otherwise engaging with any Tanita Yoga service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

These Terms & Conditions form a legally binding agreement between you and Tanita Yoga.

 

 

1. ABOUT TANITA YOGA

Tanita Yoga is a Scotland-based wellness and education business offering:

  • international yoga retreats;

  • yoga teacher trainings;

  • yoga classes;

  • workshops;

  • mentorship programmes;

  • online offerings;

  • and wellbeing experiences.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions:

  • “Tanita Yoga”, “we”, “our”, and “us” refer to Tanita Yoga.

  • “Participant”, “client”, “student”, “guest”, “you”, and “your” refer to the individual engaging with Tanita Yoga services.

 

 

2. GENERAL PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

All participants must:

  • be aged 18 years or over unless otherwise agreed in writing;

  • provide accurate information;

  • participate voluntarily;

  • ensure they are physically and mentally capable of participation;

  • and act respectfully towards other participants, venues, facilitators, and staff.

Participants remain responsible for participating within their own physical, emotional, and mental limits at all times.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to refuse participation or remove individuals from services, retreats, trainings, classes, or events where reasonably necessary for:

  • health;

  • safety;

  • wellbeing;

  • operational reasons;

  • or protection of the group environment.

 

 

3. BOOKINGS & PAYMENTS

3.1 General Bookings

Bookings are not confirmed until payment or deposit has been received.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to decline or cancel bookings where reasonably necessary.

 

 

3.2 Payment Plans

Where payment plans are agreed:

  • instalment payments become non-refundable once paid;

  • participants remain responsible for completing agreed payment schedules;

  • failure to complete payments may result in cancellation of participation without refund of amounts already paid.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to pursue outstanding balances where payment obligations have been contractually agreed.

 

 

3.3 Pricing

Prices may occasionally change.

The applicable price shall be the price displayed or agreed at the time of booking.

 

 

4. RETREAT TERMS

4.1 Retreat Deposits

A non-refundable deposit of £300 is required to secure retreat participation unless otherwise stated.

Deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.

Deposits contribute towards:

  • accommodation reservations;

  • supplier commitments;

  • venue payments;

  • retreat administration;

  • and operational planning.

 

 

4.2 Retreat Payment Plans

All retreat instalments become non-refundable once paid.

Participants remain responsible for completing agreed retreat payment schedules.

 

 

4.3 Final Retreat Balance

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, the final retreat balance is due no later than 60 days before retreat commencement.

 

 

4.4 Participant Cancellation — More Than 60 Days Before Retreat

If a participant cancels more than 60 days before the retreat start date:

  • the £300 deposit will be retained;

  • instalments already paid will be retained;

  • remaining unpaid balance will be cancelled.

 

 

4.5 Participant Cancellation — Less Than 60 Days Before Retreat

If a participant cancels less than 60 days before the retreat start date:

  • no refunds will be issued;

  • participants remain responsible for any outstanding balance owed under their booking agreement or payment plan.

This reflects advance financial commitments made by Tanita Yoga to venues, accommodation providers, suppliers, transportation providers, chefs, and retreat operations.

 

 

4.6 Retreat Transfers

Requests to transfer retreat bookings may be considered at the sole discretion of Tanita Yoga.

Transfers are not guaranteed.

Administrative fees may apply.

 

 

4.7 Retreat Cancellation by Tanita Yoga

In the rare event that Tanita Yoga must cancel or postpone a retreat, participants may be offered:

  • a transfer to a future retreat;

  • an alternative retreat date;

  • or a refund.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to determine the most commercially reasonable remedy depending on the circumstances.

Tanita Yoga shall not be responsible for:

  • flights;

  • visas;

  • travel expenses;

  • independently booked accommodation;

  • loss of earnings;

  • or other personal costs incurred.

 

 

5. TRAVEL INSURANCE & TRAVEL RESPONSIBILITY

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all retreat participants.

Participants remain solely responsible for:

  • passports;

  • visas;

  • vaccinations;

  • travel documentation;

  • compliance with local laws;

  • and suitable travel insurance.

Tanita Yoga accepts no responsibility for:

  • denied boarding;

  • travel disruption;

  • missed flights;

  • airline cancellations;

  • border restrictions;

  • or inability to travel.

 

 

6. FORCE MAJEURE

Tanita Yoga shall not be liable for failure to perform obligations where such failure results from events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • pandemics;

  • epidemics;

  • war;

  • terrorism;

  • government restrictions;

  • border closures;

  • severe weather;

  • natural disasters;

  • strikes;

  • supplier failures;

  • travel disruption;

  • or other unforeseeable events.

Where services or retreats can reasonably proceed but the participant is unable to attend, responsibility shall remain with the participant and their insurer.

 

 

7. RETREAT PROGRAMMES, FACILITATORS & ITINERARY CHANGES

Retreat schedules, teachers, workshops, facilitators, accommodation arrangements, activities, and itinerary elements may occasionally change due to:

  • operational requirements;

  • weather;

  • illness;

  • pregnancy;

  • safety considerations;

  • travel disruption;

  • venue issues;

  • or other reasonable circumstances.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to:

  • substitute teachers or facilitators;

  • modify schedules;

  • alter activities;

  • or make reasonable operational adjustments.

Such changes shall not automatically entitle participants to refunds.

 

 

8. THIRD-PARTY PROVIDERS & OPTIONAL ACTIVITIES

Certain services, activities, excursions, transportation services, surf lessons, treatments, hikes, workshops, or experiences may be operated by independent third-party providers.

Participation in such activities is voluntary.

Tanita Yoga does not directly control third-party providers and cannot guarantee their services, actions, safety standards, or performance.

Participation in optional activities is undertaken at the participant’s own discretion and risk.

 

 

9. HEALTH, WELLBEING & PARTICIPATION

Participants remain responsible for ensuring they are physically and mentally capable of participation.

Participants agree to:

  • participate within personal limits;

  • monitor their own wellbeing;

  • disclose relevant health information honestly;

  • and inform Tanita Yoga of material changes to health, injury status, pregnancy, medication, or wellbeing.

Tanita Yoga services, retreats, workshops, classes, trainings, mentorship programmes, and wellbeing experiences are not:

  • medical treatment;

  • psychotherapy;

  • counselling;

  • psychiatric care;

  • trauma therapy;

  • or mental health services.

Participants should seek appropriate medical or psychological support where required.

 

 

10. HANDS-ON ASSISTS & PHYSICAL CONTACT

Hands-on assists or physical adjustments may occasionally be offered during yoga classes, workshops, retreats, or trainings.

Participants will have the opportunity to opt in or opt out through relevant consent forms where appropriate.

Participants remain responsible for communicating boundaries and discomfort clearly.

 

 

11. FOOD, ALLERGIES & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS

Tanita Yoga will make reasonable efforts to communicate dietary requirements to venues, chefs, and providers.

However, allergen-free environments and complete absence of cross-contamination cannot be guaranteed.

Participants remain responsible for managing their own allergies, sensitivities, and dietary-related health conditions.

 

 

12. YOGA TEACHER TRAININGS (YTT)

12.1 Attendance & Participation

Students are expected to:

  • attend scheduled sessions;

  • participate respectfully;

  • complete required coursework where applicable;

  • and uphold professional and ethical conduct.

 

 

12.2 Certification

Completion of a YTT programme does not guarantee employment, teaching opportunities, business success, or specific professional outcomes.

Certification may be withheld where attendance, conduct, participation, or course requirements are not satisfactorily completed.

 

 

12.3 Intellectual Property

All YTT manuals, materials, teachings, resources, recordings, and educational content remain the intellectual property of Tanita Yoga unless otherwise stated.

Materials may not be:

  • copied;

  • reproduced;

  • distributed;

  • taught commercially;

  • or shared without prior written permission.

 

 

13. MENTORSHIP PROGRAMMES

Mentorship programmes are educational and supportive in nature.

They are not:

  • therapy;

  • counselling;

  • psychiatric care;

  • or medical treatment.

Participants remain responsible for:

  • personal decisions;

  • business decisions;

  • emotional wellbeing;

  • and professional actions.

Tanita Yoga does not guarantee:

  • financial results;

  • business success;

  • teaching opportunities;

  • or specific personal outcomes.

 

 

14. ONLINE CONTENT & DIGITAL MATERIALS

Where online content, recordings, downloads, or digital resources are provided:

  • access is granted for personal use only;

  • intellectual property rights remain with Tanita Yoga;

  • redistribution or unauthorised sharing is prohibited.

Tanita Yoga does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of online platforms or digital services.

 

 

15. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEO & MEDIA

Photography and video content may occasionally be captured during retreats, trainings, workshops, or events for promotional and marketing purposes.

Separate media consent may be requested where appropriate.

Participants may opt out of media usage.

 

 

16. PARTICIPANT CONDUCT

Participants are expected to contribute to a respectful, safe, and supportive environment.

Illegal substances are strictly prohibited.

Where alcohol is permitted, participants are expected to consume alcohol mindfully and in a manner that does not negatively impact the experience of others.

Tanita Yoga reserves the right to remove participants without refund where behaviour is considered:

  • unsafe;

  • abusive;

  • aggressive;

  • discriminatory;

  • disruptive;

  • intoxicated;

  • or harmful to the wellbeing or experience of others.

 

 

17. LIABILITY LIMITATION

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;

  • fraud;

  • or any liability which cannot legally be excluded under applicable law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tanita Yoga shall not be liable for:

  • indirect or consequential losses;

  • travel disruption;

  • airline cancellations;

  • acts of third parties;

  • personal property loss;

  • delays;

  • technological failures;

  • or events outside reasonable control.

Participants acknowledge that yoga, travel, movement, retreats, outdoor activities, trainings, and wellbeing experiences carry inherent risks.

Participation is undertaken voluntarily and at the participant’s own risk.

 

 

18. PRIVACY & DATA PROTECTION

Tanita Yoga processes personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation.

19. GOVERNING LAW

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with Scottish law.

Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms & Conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

 

 

20. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By booking, purchasing, attending, accessing, or participating in Tanita Yoga services, retreats, trainings, classes, mentorship programmes, workshops, online offerings, or events, you confirm that you:

  • have read these Terms & Conditions;

  • understand them;

  • and agree to be legally bound by them.
