Six weekends in Edinburgh spent practising, questioning, learning and exploring yoga beyond the physical..
You'll move. Study philosophy. Explore the body. Practise pranayama and meditation. Pull sequences apart and put them back together. You'll start teaching, probably before you feel completely ready, and discover how much confidence comes simply from doing it.
Between weekends, you'll have time to practise, reflect and let what you're learning settle, before coming back together and building on it again.
Then, in August, we leave Edinburgh behind for seven nights in Morocco. A week immersed in practice, study and teaching; morning sadhana, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, pranayama, philosophy and Ayurveda, alongside teaching labs, feedback, shared meals and time together.
Throughout it all, we'll honour the traditions and philosophy of yoga while exploring creativity, playfulness and freedom in the way we practise and teach.
This isn't only about learning what to teach. It's about understanding your practice more deeply, building the confidence to share it and discovering what happens when you make it your own.

SIX TRAINING WEEKENDS

This is where we build the foundations.
Across six weekends, we'll combine practice, philosophy, asana labs and teaching methodology with regular opportunities to teach.
Each weekend builds on the last, with time between sessions to practise, reflect and integrate what you're learning.
02 | Online
30-HR ANATOMY + PHYSIOLOGY

Alongside your Edinburgh training, you'll complete a dedicated 30-hour Anatomy & Physiology module with Dr Yogi, giving you focused specialist study of the body, movement and biomechanics.
We'll bring that knowledge into our in-person training through asana, sequencing and practical teaching decisions.

Seven-night immersion · 7–14 August 2027

Step into your role as a teacher.
Morocco is where everything we've been building comes together. Across seven immersive days, you'll practise, study and teach; putting what you've learned into practice while developing greater confidence in your own voice and ability to lead.
Through teaching practice, observation and feedback, you'll refine your sequencing, cueing and communication, while continuing to deepen your own practice through sadhana, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, pranayama, meditation, philosophy and Ayurveda.

Why Tanita Yoga?
A training designed to feel personal.
Our teacher trainings are built a little differently; combining experienced teachers, individual mentorship and a small-group learning environment with an education designed to prepare you to teach today's yoga students. With a maximum of ten trainees, there's space for personal guidance, meaningful feedback and genuine connection throughout your training.
01 | Small by design
More space to learn, ask questions and be seen.
This cohort will be kept intentionally small to ensure there is time for individual attention, meaningful conversation, and a genuine sense of community.
02 | Learn by Teaching
Confidence comes through experience.
You won't wait until the end of the course to teach. Teaching practice is woven throughout the training, giving you regular opportunities to try, receive feedback, refine and try again.
03 | Mentorship
Feedback that's specific to you.
Your development is personal. You'll receive individual guidance on your teaching; from sequencing and cueing to confidence, communication and the way you hold a room.
04 | Experienced Teachers
Learn from experienced faculty.
Alongside Tanita's 11+ years of teaching experience, you'll learn from specialist faculty across Ashtanga, Ayurveda, Pregnancy Yoga and Anatomy, bringing different perspectives and deeper expertise into one connected training.
From our Graduates
Hear from our graduates about their experience of the training; from deepening their own practice and understanding of yoga, to developing the confidence to step into teaching.
Georgia
“I don't have one word for it because it's so big; but it's been amazing.
I definitely understand myself in the context of yoga more. Knowing what I know now, you feel a little changed, and you understand how you'll bring yoga forward more into your life.
I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have the group and teachers that I did. It felt very special.
At the end, it's quite a crazy thought that we covered and learned so much. It's been really eye-opening and I'm so happy I did it.
If the time is right, you should do the training. It's one of the best things you will ever do.”

Lottie
“This training has been joyful. After teaching my first class, I felt elated, and really proud.
I've learned so much about myself. It wasn't always easy, but even the challenges became part of the learning. The philosophy resonated with me so deeply, and I know it will stay with me.
It's really easy to get caught up in feeling like you're not ready, but you will learn what you need to on the training.
The effort and wisdom Tanita shared was so interesting, and the whole experience was put together with so much thought and so much love.
If you feel like you want to do it; it's probably your path.”

Nikki
“I would describe this training as expansive. The whole process has been transformative, and after teaching my first class I felt joyous.
What stood out most was how everything is interconnected; how everything we've learned is interwoven, both in yoga and in life. It has been remarkable, and a real gift to be part of.
If you're curious about doing this training with Tanita, you should do it. Follow your heart. You know it will be a wholehearted, enriching experience that you won't forget.”

Bridget
“This training has been so much more than I expected. In every aspect, it has been bigger.
I'll take home with me this community, but also the confidence and understanding of the impact that yoga can have.
If you're thinking about doing this training; do it. Don't hesitate.
From beginning to end, it was one of the best experiences of my life.”

Christina
“Thank you for all of your guidance, patience and for sharing your wisdom, Tanita.
I am continually impressed and inspired by the fullness of your practice and the way you shared all of the material we covered.
It has been an incredible experience and an honour to train with you — and with Ata and Justine — and I look forward to growing into my teaching practice as I process and integrate everything we've covered over these last few months.

Meet Your
Teacher Trainer
Hi, I'm Tanita.
I've been teaching yoga for over 11 years, across weekly classes, workshops, international retreats and teacher training.
Over that time, my teaching has continued to evolve, but one thing has stayed constant: I believe great teaching comes from understanding what you're sharing, knowing why you're sharing it, and having the confidence to make it your own.
My role isn't to teach you to teach like me.
It's to give you strong foundations, practical experience and individual guidance, while creating enough space for you to question, experiment and discover the kind of teacher you want to become.
Freedom through movement has always shaped the way I teach, and I'll encourage you to colour outside the lines, too.
